See what’s in store at the largest auto show in North America.
Whether you’re looking for a new car this year or just want to be in the same vicinity as your dream car, the Chicago Auto Show does not disappoint. From new models to futuristic concept cars, the largest auto show in North America is back!
Marking its 105th edition, the 2013 Chicago Auto Show draws almost every possible automaker to McCormick Place to show off their line of cars and concept vehicles. There are nearly 1,000 vehicles on display, from the latest and best introductions from North America and around the world, to a complete range of domestic and imported passenger cars, trucks, minivans and SUVs, all covering 1 million square feet of the exhibit space. Visitors can climb in and out of a number of different models and get the true feeling of being behind the wheel. In addition, attendees have the opportunity to view numerous accessories and auto-related exhibits, competition vehicles and project, antique collector cars.
But if you think that the only thing to do at the Chicago Auto show is to look and climb in/out of cars all day, you’re way off. “Strewn among the sleek and shiny cars are a multitude of tactile, visual and physically interactive displays,” the Chicago Auto Show website says. This year they have FOUR test tracks. Returning to the show is the Jeep Test Track where you can climb into a Jeep Wrangler and have a professional driver take you through one exhilarating obstacle course. Also returning is the Toyota test track—but there’s a twist. This year’s is an eco-friendly ride and drive. New test track experiences joining this year are from Ram and Fiat/Chrysler. Aside from the test tracks, other interactive displays include a tabletop informational tablet, iMac desktop computers, smart QR codes and much more!
