Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s Corporate Night (featuring Janelle Monáe)

Posted on  May 15, 2013

Come listen to Janelle Monáe perform with the members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Enjoy a night of beautiful music at Corporate Night, a special concert fundraiser featuring the sounds of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and guest artist Janelle Monáe, on Monday, May 20th.

A fundraising event, Corporate Night is put on by the League of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association with proceeds going to support the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and its community engagement programs.

Singer Aretha Franklin was originally scheduled to perform but due to doctor’s recommendations for treatment, she had to regretfully withdraw. But don’t fret—you’ll be blown away by the soulful sounds of R&B musician, Janelle Monáe. Since the 2010 release of her critically acclaimed debt solo album, The ArchAndroid, Monáe has been nominated for a Grammy Award and has acquired global appearances and collaborations, including the recent hit single, “We Are Young,” with the Grammy Award-winning band, Fun. The singer/songwriter has been described as “a true visionary… one of the most important signings of my career,” by Sean “Diddy” Combs. Monáe will release a new album this fall titled, The Electric Lady.

Following the concert, guests can continue the evening’s festivities at the after-party sponsored by the League of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The post-concert event will be filled with live music performed by the Motown Singers with Michael Lerich and his Orchestra, hors d’oeuvres and drinks. This is a celebration you won’t want to miss.
