Lakeview East Festival of the Arts 2013

Posted on  September 11, 2013

If you are looking for a great art show in Chicago, look no further than the Lakeview East Festival of the Arts. This annual festival features a great mix of high quality local artists and is expected to once again impress in its ninth year.

The Lakeview East Festival of the Arts is an all-around celebration of the arts highlighting a wide variety of styles and techniques. Specifically, this year’s Festival will feature over 175 artists specializing in such disciplines as photography, printmaking, ceramics, clay, collage, fiber, as well as glass sculpture. About 45,000 attendees are expected to frequent this year’s festival.

Art works at the show are not only exhibited but are also judged. This provides a fun opportunity to see how your preferences stack up with expert art-critics. The works will also be available for purchase.

Lakeview East Festival of the Arts isn’t only limited to the visual arts! Live musicians will perform throughout the show. The event’s live music will be split into two stages, a Main Stage and Garden Stages.  Over 20 artist will be performing and you can see the full list of performers and times on the website.

What great Chicago festival would be complete without featuring some type of food? On Sunday, there will be cooking demonstrations by celebrity and local chefs. From 11am to 3pm, at Broadway and Roscoe.

The Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce presents the event. The chamber is very active in the community and they organize several other events in the area, checkout their Facebook page for more info!
