Riot Fest is a rock music festival that puts fans first. The show’s organizers describe themselves as “Fans first” with the simple goal of trying to “Throw unforgettable shows.” Riot Fest prides itself on personality and creating a great experience.
Though it’s a concert at the core, Riot Fest features unique extras such as carnival rides and Lucha Libre, a style of masked wrestling popular in Mexico, that make it much more than just a concert. Even the most veteran concertgoers will appreciate the Fest’s one-of-a-kind atmosphere.
Riot Fest began as an indoor, multiple-venue event in Chicago in 2005. It has since expanded to become a three-day outdoor festival in Chicago’s Humboldt Park. As of 2012 the show also has versions in Toronto and Denver.
Besides upgrading the venue, the show has evolved musically. Riot Fest was originally punk-rock exclusive with headliners like The Dead Kennedys and the Misfits. Since then Riot Fest has expanded its musical repertoire to include more general rock genres.
Some past Riot Fest performers include Naked Raygun, Bad religion, Rise Against, and Elvis Costello.
