See the Lion King Musical in Los Angeles

Posted on  November 3, 2013

The Lion King: The Landmark Musical Event is coming to Los Angeles starting November 20th and running through January 12th.

This exciting theatrical experience, based on the 1994 Disney classic, is fun for the whole family. The show is safe for kids but is still an outstanding production rivaling anything on Broadway. One of the primary features of the Lion King are the stunning theatrics the show uses to immerse the audience. Actors wear visually impressive and often outlandish costumes to portray the animals of the savanna.

This coming of age / good versus evil tale recounts the story of Simba, a lion cub as he overcomes adversaries and learns what it takes to become king of  the pride.

Fantastic set pieces are another important element of the show. One example is the massive rising sun that transports the audience to dawn on the plains, another is the imposing structure of pride rock that dominates the middle of the stage at times.

The Lion king has become a recent classic since its debut in 1997. It has won numerous awards including 6 Tonys in categories as prestigious as Best Musical and Best Choreography. It’s also had international success with productions in Japan as well as the U.K.

Featuring music from Elton John and lyrics by Tim Rice the songs of the Lion King are truly memorable.

A few of the more popular songs you may know from the show include

  • The Lion Sleeps Tonight.
  • Can you Feel the Love Tonight?
  • Hakuna Matata

Get your tickets today and remember Hakuna Matata!
