Chicago is filled with fun, local street festivals in the summer—and Summer on Southport is no exception! Located near Wrigley Field, Southport prides itself on being one of Chicago’s finest shopping and nightlife districts. And every June, this annual two-day festival a “delicious, eclectic mixture of the culinary, visual and performing arts.” (Summer on Southport Facebook page)
During the day, Summer on Southport will include the 10th Annual Children’s Festival. Bring the kids during the afternoon, and enjoy all the kid-friendly activities and events: a balloon artist, face painting, a rock wall, an inflatable obstacle course, a jump house and mini golf! It’s something both kids and their parents are sure to love!
Adults can come out and “play” after 5:00 p.m. where there will be plenty of food and drinks from local eateries, local artists selling their works and tons of live entertainment, with past performances including Ralph Covert, Edwin McCain and Justin Roberts.
Come enjoy all the fun opportunities Southport has to offer to enjoy a great summer weekend in Chicago!
