The Santa Monica Museum of Art fundraiser, Incognito, invites guests to “trust their instincts” as they purchase artwork from over 500 anonymous artists. The April 26th event will feature 700 identically priced works of art that patrons will have to evaluate based on looks alone!
Incognito eliminates the name recognition factor that gives established artists an advantage at these types of shows, enabling emerging artists a great opportunity to stand out.The only thing that matters at Incognito is quality. The show also serves as a test of patron’s abilities to recognize their favorite artists.
This year’s event marks Incognito’s 10th anniversary and appropriately all the works will be in a 10” by 10” format. All pieces will be priced at $350 +tax.
Incognito will be held at the Santa Monica Museum of Art on April 26th. Doors open at 7pm and the event will go until 10. Cocktails and food will be served and DJ Daedalus will supply musical entertainment. Tickets are required for entrance to the event.
A gala dinner and preview event, Precognito will take place on Wednesday April 23rd from 7pm to 10pm, also at the museum. It will honor 10 artists who have contributed to the spirit of incognito. Ticket prices for the gala as well as Incognito vary greatly.
