Though the holiday season is at its end, the spirit of giving is still going strong. The 13th Annual Polar Bear Plunge will take place on January 25th to help raise money for families in need in the Chicago area. Participants of this philanthropic and amusing event will jump into the icy cold waters of Lake Michigan in their swim apparel for a good cause.
Over its 13-year history the Plunge has raised $214,000 in donations that have been given to families. This year they will be raising money for two different families to help them during these difficult times. As always, 100% of the proceeds from the Plunge will go towards the families in need.
If you would like to take the plunge yourself, head over to lakeviewpolarbearclub.com and register. There you will set up a fundraising page where others can donate to your cause. If you aren’t quite crazy enough to jump in the water yourself, be sure to at least donate to the event.
There will also be an After-party to celebrate and get warmed up. This year it will be held at Fat Pour Tap Works. Tickets are $30 and include food and adult beverages. The event runs from 1pm to 4pm.
Have fun, raise money and take the plunge!
