Taste of Lincoln Avenue 2013

Posted on  July 23, 2013

Taste of Lincoln Avenue is back for its 30th anniversary.

Since 1984, the Taste of Lincoln Avenue has given guests much more than a “taste,”—it’s actually a full-featured entertainment event. This year there are four stages to accommodate the 35 musical artists who will be performing, in addition to the 100+ refreshment vendors that represent the best cuisine in the area.

There will also be the always-popular Kids’ Carnival with pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, art activities, inflatables and more!

Over its 30-year history, Taste of Lincoln Avenue has continued to improve and expand. An exciting new vendor this year is Headquarters Beercade, sponsoring free arcade games and selling craft beers. On the music side of things, D.J. Rock City and D.J. Gordo are just a few new acts that will represent the debut of electronic dance music at the fest.

Ranging in pop, rock and blues, here is a sampling of this year’s performers:

  • Loverboy
  • Dan Hubbard and the Humadors
  • Dave Davies of the Kinks
  • Mutts
  • DJ Gordo
  • Sound Remedy
  • Red Wanting Blue
  • Sixteen Candles
  • Dot Dot Dot
  • Wedding Banned

Not only is it guaranteed to be a good time, it is also guaranteed to help the local community. The main beneficiary of this year’s festival is the Wrightwood Neighbors Association (WNA), which puts most of the funds raised into local public schools, and also helps fund parks, police and fire departments and community outreach programs. So whether you live near or are just visiting Chicago, make sure you get out and support the community!

Featuring some of the best food and entertainment from the Chicago area, Taste of Lincoln Avenue is sure to be a success in its 30th year!
