14th Annual Dance Camera West
Dance is one of the most ancient forms of communication known to man. At 9,000 years old, it even predates the written word. It’s a little surprising that film, a less than 150 year old technology, is such a perfect way to capture this awesome art form!
The Dance Camera West (DCW) Dance Media Film Festival is an exposition of dance on film. 2015 marks the 14th year of the event and it will take place April 30th-May 5th at various venues around Los Angeles.
Film & Dance from all over the World!
The films showcased in the festival aren’t just from southern California, or even the United States. 25 films representing 34 countries will be screened at this years event. Variety seems to be a theme of the festival with new venues being used for the screenings daily. Additionally, some of the screening sessions are sorted into themes,
Some of this year’s themes include:
- “Celebrating Technicolor 100th Anniversary”
- “Israel Past and Future”
- “Animate life: Dance!”
The Festival will begin Thursday April 30th with a Festival Kickoff, at UTA Screening Room in Beverly Hills. It will end on Tuesday May 5th around 7:30pm.
