2013 Sunset Strip Music Festival
The Sunset Strip Music Festival is a three-day music extravaganza, celebrating and perpetuating the musical tradition of the Sunset Strip. Performers like Sad Robot, Uprooted and Girl On Fire will take over indoor venues such as The Whisky a Go-Go, The House of Blues and The Roxy. The festival will conclude with its main event on 8/3, shutting down the Strip between Doheny Drive and San Vicente Boulevard for a nine-hour Street Fest.
The Saturday Street Fest is headlined by Linkin Park and will also feature performances by Wale, Awolnation, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Logic and Asher Roth, along with many others. The Street Fest will take place from 2pm to 11pm and will consist of two outdoor stages, a beer garden, an autograph tent as well as vendor booths and VIP lounges.
August 1st marks the beginning of the festival. This year’s most famous artist, and festival Honoree is Joan Jett. Jett, who grew up on The Strip, will receive the Elmer Valentine award at The House of Blues on 8/1. She will be the first honoree to actually perform at the tribute ceremony.
Proceeds from the SSMF will go towards Music For Relief, an organization that helps support disaster relief victims.
The full lineup of performers and their venues are included on the festival’s website.
