About the 2016 Riot Fest and Carnival
Get ready to rock, get ready to roll! Riot Fest and Carnival will be officially returning to the scenic Douglas Park the weekend of September 16th-18th. Fearing they would be forced to find a new home yet again and determined to leave the area better than they found it, organizers paid $180,000 in repairs to Douglas Park following the 2015 Riot Fest (the event was forced relocate in 2015 after members of the community and 26th Ward Alderman Roberto Maldonado were not satisfied with the $182,000 spent repairing Humboldt Park following the 2014 Riot Fest). However, restoration efforts were recognized and the North Lawndale community welcomed back the eclectic festival for another weekend of rock and roll.
For 3-days straight, fans gather together to rock out to their favorite bands on 6 different stages. Music starts at 11am and ends at (roughly) 10pm. And guess what? The good news doesn’t end there! Check out the 2016 lineup:
