Mount Hermon Adventures
Adventurous spirits: Visit Mount Hermon Adventures located just seven miles outside the city of Santa Cruz. At Mount Hermon, visitors have the chance to zip line through redwoods or take an aerial tour through the forest with a challenging ropes course.
- Mount Hermon Redwood Zip Line Tour: Expect a two-hour guided adventure that includes six zip lines and two sky bridges at heights of up to 150 feet. Each tour can have up to eight people, led by two certified guides that will share a variety of forest facts along the way. Zip liners must be at least 10 years old and 53 inches tall. Summer tours are $99 per person.
- Mount Hermon Aerial Ropes Course: Enjoy a two-hour session with access to three different courses, totaling 40 challenging elements (think: swinging logs and cargo nets) set 30 to 80 feet in the air. The courses vary in difficulty, allowing you to complete the tour at your own pace. And you’ll have access to the course’s trained staff throughout your session in case you need help. Sessions are $75 per person. Participants must be at least 10 years old and taller than 54 inches.
The Felton Covered Bridge
If you’re looking for a more mellow experience, visit the Felton Covered Bridge. Why a bridge? It’s considered the tallest covered bridge in the United States and has been a California Historical Landmark since 1957. The bridge is 80 feet long and stretches over the San Lorenzo River in Felton, Santa Cruz County. Visit the bridge for a photo, then continue on to the Felton Covered Bridge Park. At the park, you’ll find a picnic area, volleyball court, playground and plenty of green space. Fishing is permitted with the proper licenses.
