4 Can’t-Miss Holiday Attractions Near Studio City

In Studio City, you might not find snow during the holiday season, but that doesn’t mean you won’t come across ample attractions and festivities to get you in the holiday spirit! Here are four exciting, festive attractions in the Studio City area that are worth visiting this holiday season.

The Rink in Downtown Burbank

It’s not a proper holiday season without a little ice skating, right? And believe it or not, you can ice skate in balmy Studio City at the Rink in Downtown Burbank. Situated right near Burbank City Hall, this outdoor rink is open to both visitors and locals alike throughout December and part of January. Admission to skate is $12 per person, and skate rentals are $5 per person. If you can’t skate, don’t panic! There’s plenty of plastic seal and reindeer skating aids available for kids and adults.

Moonlight Forest

While in Studio City, skip the usual holiday lights and instead opt for a visit to the Los Angeles Arboretum for their Magical Lantern Art Festival, or “Moonlight Forest”. Now through Jan 6, the Arboretum is filled with shimmering lantern art, depicting everything from flowers to dragons. In addition to the various displays, guests also have the chance to watch live acrobats, dancers and other performers on-site. This exhibit is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 5:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. Ticket prices start at $20 and include free parking.

Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal Studios Hollywood is one of the most notable attractions in the Studio City area – and for good reason. The park features several movie-inspired rides and walk-through attractions, like the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Visitors also have the chance to meet and greet some of their favorite characters and eat at specially themed restaurants throughout the park. During the holidays, Universal becomes even more magical with plenty of décor and festivities. Here are some of the holiday happenings you can expect to find at Universal Studios Hollywood from Nov 28 through Dec 19:

  • Holidays at Universal Studios: holiday décor, holiday-themed food, characters, photo opportunities, exclusive merchandise and more
  • Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter: this magical corner of the park will be transformed with festive décor, lights and music
  • Grinchmas: enjoy meet and greets with the Grinch and other Who-ville characters
  • (Dec 31) EVE at Universal Studios Hollywood: features multiple party areas throughout the park, each with music, dancing and drinks; the night ends with a countdown to midnight and fireworks show
