Blues Musician Joe Bonamassa Brings Three Kings Tour to the Santa Barbara Bowl!
B.B. King, Albert King, and Freddie King were some of the most influential musicians of the electric-blues genre. Not only did these “Three Kings of Blues” share a last name, they also share a lot of credit for where blues music is today. Blues-guitar great, Joe Bonamassa, brings his Three Kings Tour to the Santa Barbara Bowl on August 25, 2015. The show, which starts at 7:30pm, is a tribute to the music of blues legends B.B. King, Albert King and Freddie King. Joe Bonamassa is not only an accomplished blues guitarist himself, but early in his career (at age 12) he was actually the opener for B.B. King for several shows, making him the perfect ambassador of blues for a new generation.
Who is Joe Bonamassa?
Joe Bonamassa is a Grammy nominated blues musician who has been performing since 1989. He is not only a quality musician, he’s prolific as well, having released 11 studio albums since 2000, 3 of which reached the #1 position on the Billboard blues charts. Bonamassa has also been played alongside other well-known musicians like Eric Clapton, Foreigner and Stephen Stills. Bonamassa has a deep love for his art and his Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation helps provide scholarships and music education equipment to help music remain a part of our schools.
About the Santa Barbara Bowl
Built in 1936, specifically as a venue for the local tradition “Old Spanish Days” fiesta, The Santa Barbara Bowl has become a popular destination for musical acts. The 4,500-seat amphitheater averages about 27 concerts annually.
