The only thing better than enjoying a summer concert in Calistoga is enjoying a free summer concert in Calistoga!
The Calistoga Beverage Company is to thank for this great opportunity as they will be sponsoring the 2014 Concerts in the Park series from June 26th to August 28th. The free outdoor concert series will take place at Pioneer Park in Calistoga, California, on Thursday nights from 6:30-8:30.
Concerts in the Park 2014 has an exciting summer schedule!
July 10th – RoseTown Soul
Come listen to the hottest horn section in all of Sonoma County! RoseTown is a “Blue Brothers” inspired, 7-piece Soul and R&B band. They will be performing complete with black suit and tie, fedoras, and dark sunglasses. They will be performing soul classics from Otis Redding to Wilson Picket and STAX to MOTOWN. Band members have performed with other local acts such as “Crossfire” and “CT and The Cruisers.”
July 17th – Dennis Johnson and The Mississippi Ramblers
Slide guitarist Dennis Johnson has been known to apply the art of slide guitar across many different genres of music including: Blues, New Orleans, Rock, and Swing. Johnson has been compared to slide guitarists Robert Johnson and Roy Rogers. The Mississippi Ramblers perform music that has been known for years to move audiences and get people dancing!
July 24th – Buck Ford
Buck Ford is a young, Nashville recording artist, whose style reflects traditional country sound and rhythm. Ford and his band want the sound and feel of real old country music to “come back to life.” Ford’s influences include: George Strait, Merle Haggard, George Jones, and Keith Whiteley. So if you like traditional country music then join Buck Ford and his band in the park!
July 31st – Keyser Soze
If you enjoy reggae and soul mixed with a strong jazz background, then you must come listen to Keyser Soze when they perform in the park! This 6-piece band has been performing regionally since 1998. While on tour, they have shared the stage with headliners such as: Michael Franti, The English Beat, The Wailers, The Aggrolites, Steel Pulse, and the Skatalites.
August 7th – National Park Radio
This new modern all-acoustic folk band was born in the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas. They feature well-written original songs inspired by their native landscape as well as the trials of life and love. The band is known to incorporate melodies and vocal harmonies that are sure to be enjoyed by others.
August 14th – Kerouac
Kerouac is a funky R&B blues band that is fun to come out and enjoy! They play rock legends such as Grace Slick, Janis Joplin, Tina Turner, The Stones, and Aretha Franklin. This band considers themselves a triple threat because of their blending vocals, driving rhythm section, and their inspired instrumentals. The guitarists of the group have played with other bands such as: JGB and New Riders of the Purple Sage.
August 21st – Wild Catahoulas
The Wild Catahoulas are a unique band with a New Orleans sound. Their music is a combination of traditional Cajun French two-steps and waltzes from Southwestern Louisiana. Band members have toured with Queen Ida and the Bon Ton Zydeco Band, Jim Boggio’s Sonoma Swamp Dogs, Solid Air, Bronze Hog, Sonoma County Love Choir, and Al Rapone’s Zydeco Express. Guest accordion Andrew Carriere, of the legendary Carriere Family of Lake Charles, Louisiana will also be joining the Wild Catahoulas in the park!
August 28th – Allways Elvis Band
Join The King and his Allways Elvis Band as they rock out the last concert in the park for the summer. The King “Allways” brings a large crowd with a great performance by playing today’s hits and also classics from The Beatles, Springsteen, and the Stones! So come out and have a good time with a great performance from Elvis!
