Monterey Bay Greek Festival

Every Labor Day weekend, Monterey’s Pacific turns Mediterranean for the annual Monterey Bay Greek Festival. Happening this September 1-3, the festival includes authentic cuisine, wine and entertainment. It takes place at Custom House Plaza near Fisherman’s Wharf and admission is free! Grab a traditional bite to eat, enjoy a live performance and sip on a cup of Greek coffee. Oh and don’t forget about the desserts (baklava, lots of it). On Saturday and Sunday the festival runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. And on Monday it runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year’s menu has not yet been announced, but check back on the official festival website for updates.

Festa Italia in Monterey

From September 7-9, get a taste of la dolce vita at Monterey’s 85th annual Festa Italia. This fest is full of Italian fun! It includes entertainment, raffles, bocce tournament, parade and authentic cuisine. Just like the Monterey Bay Greek Festival, Festa Italia is held at the Custom House Plaza in downtown Monterey. The fest runs Friday 3-10 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-6p.m. General Admission is free and you’ll find more details on the official Fest Italia website.

 

Oktoberfest Monterey Bay    

Monterey Bay continues the European celebrations with Oktoberfest on September 15. From 12-6 p.m., Monterey’s Oktoberfest is filled to the rim with activities. Sip on Bavarian beers, sample authentic bites and listen to live music provided by the Internationals. General Admission tickets are $20 per person.
