Dec 5 Downtown Holiday Parade
On Friday December 5th, over 50,000 spectators are expected to line downtown Santa Barbara for the annual Holiday Parade! Get ready for marching bands, holiday floats, musical performances and even Santa Claus himself! This year’s theme is “Winter Nights & Holiday Lights” and will feature grand marshal Alan Thicke.
A meet and greet will take place starting at 4pm at the Paseo Nuveo center court, but the actual parade won’t begin until 6:30pm. Its route starts at State Street and Sola Street and ends at Cota Street. For more information, call 805-962-2098 ext. 800
Dec. 7 Annual Motorcycle Toy Run
If you’re into motorcycles and giving to a good cause, this is the perfect event for you! The 27th annual Toy Run is a motorcycle ride which benefits the Unity Shoppe, the largest food and basic needs distributor in Santa Barbara county.
In order to participate, rides must donate $25 for themselves and $20 for each passenger along with a new unwrapped toy preferably for a teen or preteen. The ride starts at 10:45am at Santa Claus Lane – Carpenteria, just off of Highway 101 and finishes at the Elk’s lodge at exit 101.
Check in for the ride starts at 9am and coffee and donuts will be provided. So buy some toys, get your bike and support a great cause!
Dec. 14 Harbor Parade of Lights
Certainly a holiday tradition unlike any other, For the 29th year, the Parade of Lights will bring its unique brand of holiday cheer to Santa Barbara! 30 to 50 boats are expected to parade along the shoreline of Santa Barbara. Admission to the event is free, and your view depends entirely on where you choose to watch. The best views can be purportedly be found at Stearns Wharf and the Santa Barbara Breakwater.
One of the most fun parts of this event is the competitive aspect. Boats are awarded prizes based on how well decorated and lit up they are. A wide range of competitors will enter the competition, everything from commercial fishing vessels to paddle powered kayaks will be part of the parade!

Dec 13 & 14 The Hallelujah project
Presented by the Santa Barbara Choral Society, The Hallelujah Project 2014 is a concert featuring voices from the Choral Society and Orchestra some soloists and even the Santa Barbara Children’s Chorus. Ticket prices vary from $12 for students to $42.50 for section A tickets. The Saturday show begins at 8pm and the Sunday show starts at 3pm and takes place at the Lobero theatre!
