Halloween in Monterey
Okay, we’ll admit it: Monterey, CA has a dark side. And it’s about to come out this October with all of its spooky events! Get your crawl on at The Pebble Beach Zombie Run. Dress up your little goblin and trick-or-treat in downtown Pacific Grove. Or, have a not-so-scary Pumpkin Carving & Pinot date at Sovino Wine Bar & Merchant. More details about all things dark n’ spooky below.
The Pebble Beach Zombie Run
Calling all runners (and crawlers) to Monterey! Head to popular Pebble Beach on Saturday, October 27 for the annual Zombie Run. Choose from two uniquely-designed courses, both trailing along the picturesque Pebble Beach and Fire Defense Roads. Course 1 is a challenging 5K “Zombie Crawl” with 3.1 miles of steep hills. Course 2 is a more relaxed 2K “Survivor Stroll” with flat terrain (perfect for strollers & little ones). The race is held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. with snacks to follow. Afterwards you can also peruse the Emergency Preparedness booths, to prepare yourself for the next zombie apocalypse or world-ending disaster.
Trick-or-Treating in Downtown Pacific Grove
If you’re in Monterey looking for something a little less spooky and a little more kid-friendly, take a trip to downtown Pacific Grove on October 27 for their annual Trick-or-Treating event. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. ghosts and goblins of all ages will be able to trick-or-treat at the participating businesses around downtown. Along with candy, there will also be music, giveaways and special offers at local restaurants & shops. The event is happening at the same time as the PG Museum of Natural History’s Spooky Science Saturday, so make sure to check out their special Halloween exhibits and activities.
