How to Celebrate Earth Day in Studio City

You’ll experience a whole new world when you celebrate Earth Day in Studio City. Go on an adventure with the family to the Los Angeles Zoo and gain an appreciation for wildlife. Also learn how you can be a better pal to our animal friends! To help Studio City’s local aquatic life, participate in the Great LA River Clean Up. Help on April 13, to remove trash and litter along the LA River shore and work to make our waterways cleaner and safer.

Visit the Los Angeles Zoo

Bring in Earth Day with a roar at the Los Angeles Zoo! Home to more than 1,400 creatures, it’s a perfect place for the family to be immersed in wildlife. The zoo offers over 11 exhibits across 13 acres. The Rainforest of the Americas is their newest exhibit focusing on the idea that “the rainforest is a home.” If amphibians and reptiles are your thing, then check out the LAIR. From rainforest canopies to dry deserts, this exhibit has a little bit of everything. Kids will love the Winnick Family Children’s Zoo where they can explore a cave or watch for prairie dogs in special pop-up bubbles. Open from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily, admission to the LA Zoo ranges from free to $21. If you’re visiting as a family, be sure to save money and check out the Family Combo Package for $80.

Hotel Near the Los Angeles Zoo

With over 133 acres of ground to cover at the LA Zoo you might want to stay a night or two in Studio City. We recommend booking your stay at the nearby Studio City Court Yard. This property is a great choice for families traveling on a budget and it’s located right near the LA Zoo.

Participate in the Great LA River Clean Up

Make this Earth Day personal and participate in a river clean up! Friends of the LA River will be hosting The Great LA River Clean Up on April 13. Participants will gather at multiple sites along the river from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. One site will include the Glendale Narrows Riverwalk, which is home to the 11-mile natural bottom Glendale Narrows stretch of the river. The Riverwalk includes two small parks, an equestrian facility and public art installations! In an effort to keep this area and the water clean, volunteers are encouraged to register early. Volunteers also have the opportunity to donate to the Friends of the LA River group and encourage others on social media to do the same. They have donation options for both groups and individuals. So, don’t be afraid–roll-up your sleeves and give back to mother nature!
