Stroll the Santa Monica beach. Stroll the outdoor mall. Enjoy patio dining. Then grab ice skates and enjoy beachside skating, thanks to ICE in Downtown Santa Monica. Located a half-mile from ICE, The Georgian Hotel is the perfect place to stay once you unlace your skates and call it a night.

Each year as Halloween winds down, workers transform the corner of Fifth Street and Arizona Avenue into an 8,000 square-foot ice-skating rink. It’s an unexpected place to spend time with friends and family, go on a date or host a holiday party. Enjoy the ocean breeze as you glide across the rink. Pros and amateurs alike can have hours of fun landing a Triple Lutz, or just keeping their balance on the ice. Get caught up in the beauty of the sun setting over the Pacific and forget the stresses of everyday life; it’s truly a sight to behold.

Skate rental is included in the price of admission. Need to schedule a lesson to touch up your skills? You can do so here. Celebrating a special occasion? Party cabanas are available to rent here.

Make a day of it!

With so much to do within walking distance of the rink, it’s easy to fill a day with Santa Monica splendor. Santa Monica Place is the premier shopping center by the beach. With stores like Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co, Nordstrom and Coach, even the most serious shoppers are impressed. Reopening its doors in 2010 as an open-air outdoor mall, Santa Monica Place boasts architectural beauty almost as breathtaking as a ring from Tiffany’s (almost).

After a leisurely day of shopping, grab a bite before heading to ICE. There is no shortage of great restaurants in Santa Monica! If you’re in the mood for a steak, try BOA Steakhouse for a succulent 40 Day Dry Aged New York Strip or delicious Bone-In Rib Eye. If seafood sounds like the better option, try Water Grill. The fish is as fresh as one could expect from a restaurant located a stone’s throw from the Pacific.
