Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett To Perform at the Hollywood Bowl
What comes to mind when you think of Lady Gaga? We’re guessing “Tony Bennett” is probably not at the top of the list! Surprisingly, Bennett and Gaga are currently on tour together promoting their collaborative jazz album “Cheek to Cheek” and will be performing two shows at the Hollywood Bowl on May 30th and 31st!
It might be hard to believe that an eccentric pop star would make a good partner for an 88-year-old crooner, but the pair makes a great team. Contrary to the opinion that today’s pop stars are superficial and manufactured to fit an image, Lady Gaga has some serious vocal talent to back up her success. Her singing style fits surprisingly well with Bennett’s and the two have great on-stage chemistry!
Cheek to Cheek
Gaga and Bennett’s “Cheek to Cheek” tour will take them all across the U.S. and to many parts of Europe. The album itself does not feature original music but is actually a compilation of covers of classic Jazz standards from The Great American Songbook including:
• “Anything Goes” – Cole Porter
• “It Don’t mean a thing” (If It Aint’ Got That Swing) -Duke Ellington, Irving Mills
• “Sophisticated Lady” – Duke Ellington, Irving Mills, Mitchell Parish
• “Lush Life” – Billy Strayhorn
• “Cheek to Cheek” – Irving Berlin
Tickets for the shows at the Hollywood Bowl are available via Ticketmaster.com. Prices range from $60-$3000, depending on location. Order your tickets today, as this event is expected to sell out!
