Must-Visit Attractions in Santa Barbara
You’ve decided to visit Santa Barbara, you’ve bought your plane ticket, now what? Scope out the local attractions! In Santa Barbara, there are many great attractions. And today we’ve handpicked two that are absolutely must-visits. Read below for more details about the Santa Barbara Zoo, Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History and nearby hotels.
Santa Barbara Zoo
Home to more than 200 different species, the Santa Barbara Zoo is one of Santa Barbara’s largest attractions, spanning across a remarkable 30 acres of botanic gardens. It offers a variety of unique exhibits and also hosts special events throughout the year, like the Zoofari Ball. The ball is on August 25 this year and is the zoo’s largest fundraiser. It includes dinner and dancing for $350 per person. Tickets can be purchased online. While the zoo loves to host fun events like the Zoofari Ball, its primary mission is to educate. Through school trips and hands-on programs, the Santa Barbara Zoo educates both children and adults about wildlife. In addition to educating, the zoo also participates in the Species Survival Plan (SSP) in an effort to maintain diversity among animals in human care and protect against extinction in the wild.
