Santa Barbara Studio Artists’ Open Studio Tour 2017
Labor Day weekend isn’t just for cookouts on the beach. The Santa Barbara Studio Artists’ Open Studio Tour has become a staple of the holiday weekend for locals and visitors alike. Artists and art enthusiasts come together for this 3-day, juried art studio open house that allows you to explore over 45 private studios. See what it’s all about!
Art on Parade
While there are plenty of galleries that one can visit most days of the week, this event allows the public to peek into the private studios of world-renowned artists. This opportunity to explore Santa Barbara from an insider’s perspective doesn’t happen every day. On September 2-5, from 11am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday then from 11am-2pm on Monday, is your chance to get up close and personal with many artists’ creative processes and inspiration.
Artists of all media and instruction are represented in this diverse lineup. Members are professional artists who have been carefully selected for the weekend and are master craftspeople. Having the opportunity to view and purchase art directly at the source is a unique aspect of the Open Studio Tour that breaks down the barrier between studios and the public.
While not all of the studios are in the city of Santa Barbara, that’s half the fun! This self-guided driving tour of the greater Santa Barbara area includes studios in Montecito, Hope Ranch, Goleta, and Buellton. Take a look at the impressive lineup for the 2017 Open Studio Tour in this interactive, printable brochure!
