Sheffield Music Festival & Garden Walk
Green-thumbed garden enthusiasts and music lovers unite at this unique event in Chicago’s Sheffield neighborhood. The 49th annual Sheffield Music Festival & Garden Walk allows visitors to explore over one hundred of the neighborhood’s beautiful residential gardens. Pair that with live music and the Chicago Craft Beer Festival and you’ve got one great weekend.
Entertainment & Eats
Nestled in the streets of one of Chicago’s most beautiful residential neighborhoods, the Music Festival & Garden Walk features two stages with all-day musical entertainment, food vendors, an artisan marketplace, and the ever-popular Kids’ Corner. Mark your calendars, because boredom will be banished for the whole weekend! The complete list of vendors and musical lineup can be found here.
Have you ever wanted to hop the fences of some of Chicago’s most beautiful residential gardens and explore? At this weekend festival, there is no fence hopping required! From noon to 5:30pm on Saturday and Sunday feel free to peruse over one hundred gardens to your heart’s content. Self-guided tours are free and can be as long or short as you would like. Guidebooks are available for $10 and can be purchased at the Garden Center in front of St. Vincent de Paul Church, though they are not required to walk through the gardens.
Guided tours are also available beginning at 3:30pm on both days for a $10 donation per person. Take a stroll with master gardeners and landscape experts through three selected gardens. Besides just gazing at the beauty of each garden you’ll get an in-depth analysis of each green space from these gardening specialists. It is recommended to sign up for these tours in advance at the main information booth starting at 11:30am each day.
Crazy for Craft Beer
In conjunction with the Sheffield Music Fest & Garden Walk, the Chicago Craft Beer Festival is back again this year. Visitors can sample over 70 specialty beers from local and national brewers. The $40 tasting pass will get you into the private tasting area from 11:30am to 4:30pm, a souvenir tasting glass, and live music in the seating area. Don’t wait until the day-of! Tickets for this event tend to go fast and are cheaper to buy in advance.
