A Night of Fine Wine, Dancing and Romance
Sunset: Savor the Central Coast is hosting a reception at Hearst Castle on Thursday September 25th from 5:30-9:30pm that will feature catering by the renowned Meagen Loring Catering company, a wine tasting session from award winning wineries and of course plenty of dancing with music supplied by a live jazz band. Cocktail party attire is suggested and 20s and 30s era clothing is highly encouraged to truly bring out the spirit of the locations glory days.
The event is presented by WineCoastCountry.com and proceeds will benefit the Friends of Hearst Castle, an organization dedicated to the preservation and recognition of this historic landmark.
Savor the Central Coast
Sunset, Savor the Central Coast is dedicated to events showing the best side of California’s Central coast. They host a main event at Santa Margarita Ranch but also organize special events like the opening night reception at Hearst Castle, as well as events at other coastal hotspots.
About Hearst Castle
Hearst Castle is an iconic piece of the San Simeon landscape. Built in 1919 by media mogul William Randolph Hearst, the castle originally served as his vacation getaway and retreat. In the 20s and 30s Hearst Castle was a popular destination for celebrities and politicians. The Marx Brothers, Charles Lindbergh, Clark Gable and Bob Hope were known to have been guests of Hearst’s.
The castle also served as inspiration for “Xanadu” in the Orson Welles masterpiece “Citizen Kane.” In 1957 The castle was donated to the State of California by the Hearst Corporation.
