Spring break season is upon us, but college kids shouldn’t be the only ones to get to take advantage of this exciting time of year. Why not take a mini spring-vacation to the beach town of Santa Barbara? It’s a great place to get some sun and there is no shortage of things to do.

The bars and clubs are always popular spring-break destination. If you’re interested in the best of Santa Barbara’s nightlife, here are Yelp.com’s highest ranked Santa Barbara bars.

  • The Press Room 15 E Ortega St, Santa Barbara. An“untraditional” English pub according to it’s website.
  • Elsie’s 117 W De La Guerra Street. The top reviewer says “it feels like a Grungy basement… in the best way possible!” If you’d like a unique atmosphere that’s not quite a dive bar try Elsie’s.
  • The Neighborhood 235 West Montecito Street. The Neighborhood was actually voted Best Bar in Santa Barbara 5 years in a row! It’s centered around entertainment and features foosball, ping pong and pool.

If you’d rather avoid the typical spring break crowd, there are plenty of other attractions in Santa Barbara.

For example, you can indulge your cultural side and see a show at one of Santa Barbara’s theaters. The Lobero, The Arlington or Granada Theatre are all great options.

The Lobero Theatre is actually a piece of California history. It is the oldest continuously operating theatre in the state, and was originally founded in 1873. Musicians Ariana Gills+ Ellis Paul on the 19th, and jazz performer Regina Carter on the 22nd of April.

Finally, the Old Santa Barbara Mission has plenty to offer no matter what your interests are . The “Queen of the Missions” is an icon of the city that’s been around since 1786. Stop and enjoys the mission’s spectacular architecture, learn about its historical significance or take a stroll through the gardens that surround the mission.
