TubaChristmas
Concert will feature 40+ brass players from all over Southern California
Celebrating its 38th anniversary nationwide, the TubaChristmas concert at Stork Placita will be one of the hundreds of concerts being presented in cities throughout the United States, Canada and Switzerland.
“Since its beginning in 1974, the TubaChristmas Concert has grown into a worldwide celebration honoring the legacy of William J. Bell with a compilation of traditional Christmas music performed by local horn players,” the Santa Barbara Downtown Organization website says.
This Saturday, this special Southern California concert will feature tuba, sousaphone, euphonium and baritone horn players of all ages playing traditional Christmas carols specially arranged by the first TubaChristmas composer, Alex Wilder.
TubaChristmas will be conducted by Santa Barbara City College Band Director, Eric Heidner, and is sponsored by the Santa Barbara Downtown Organization.
Bring your friends and family to TubaChristmas, and listen – and maybe even sing along – to some great Christmas music!
