Upcoming Chicago Food Fests
Visiting Chicago soon and not sure what’s happening? You’ve come to the right place! This September and October, pay a visit to one of Chicago’s many upcoming food festivals! Satisfy your sweet tooth at Lincoln Park Zoo’s Donut Fest, have a fancy feast at Chicago Gourmet or kick back and relax at the Bacon and Beer Classic. (If you’re reading this on an empty stomach, we apologize in advance).
Donut Fest at the Lincoln Park Zoo
Chicago’s best donuts, mimosas and penguins…could Donut Fest get any better? On September 8 from 11-3 p.m., visit the Lincoln Park Zoo for their special donut tasting event! Here you’ll have the chance to try samples from some of Chicago’s best bakeries while sipping on mimosas, beer and wine. Exclusive access to some of the zoo’s exhibits is also included. Tickets are $20-$45 and the event is kid-friendly!
Hotel Near Lincoln Park Zoo
After your donut-induced coma sets in, it might be a good idea to find a hotel near Lincoln Park Zoo! Consider staying at the Willows Hotel. This weekend is jam-packed with celebrity chefs, food samples and drink tastings. On Friday from 6-9 p.m., watch chefs compete for the title of best burger at the Hamburger Hop. Guests can enjoy gourmet burger samples and vote for their favorite. On Saturday, the Gourmet Grand Tasting (aka lots of food and drink vendors) is happening in the heart of Millennium Park from 12-6 p.m. And from 2-4 p.m. guests can attend the Grand Cru wine tasting event. Grab even more food at Sunday’s Rise & Shine Gourmet (8:30-12:15 p.m.), another Gourmet Grand Tasting (12-5 p.m.) or the final Grand Cru (2-4 p.m.). On October 6, this massive one-day food fest will take over Chicago’s Soldier Field from 1-5 p.m. Expect over 100 craft beers to be tasted, 30+ bacon inspired dishes, music, games and Oktoberfest fun. Participating restaurants and breweries can be found here. Tickets range in cost from $49-$75 and can be purchased here. General Admission includes unlimited tastings, a souvenir cup, music, games and more. VIP tickets includes all of the perks of general admission, plus an hour early entry, special bathrooms and a lanyard.
