If you’re looking to get out of the house for spring break, or just because, then we have a solution for you- visit Hollywood! Believe it or not, there’s more to Hollywood than just the sign, and today, we’re sharing some of the most exciting things to do and places to stay while in Hollywood. But don’t just take our word for it, visit and discover the beautiful neighborhood yourself!
Guided tours are the perfect way to explore the area while also learning a bit about the people and events of the past. A company called Dearly Departed Tours offers multimedia bus tours that cover some of the most famous Hollywood cases, including Manson, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson. The Hollywood Forever Cemetery Tour gives visitors a chance to pay their respects to legendary stars like Judy Garland and Rudolph Valentino as they walk through the “Cemetery of the Stars.” If you’re looking for something a little less morbid and more family-friendly, the Paramount Studio Tour is a good choice. This tour gives a behind-the-scenes look at iconic stages and current productions.
While we’re still in the midst of peak production season for Hollywood (August-March), now is a great time to sit in a studio audience! Many websites sell tickets for sitcoms, reality shows and talk shows that have live audiences. Some shows currently filming include The Big Bang Theory, Man with a Plan and American Idol. If you plan on sitting in on a show, realize that they take awhile to film; a 30-minute show might take up to two hours to completely shoot.
Your exploration of Hollywood doesn’t have to end when the tours are over. During your time here, stay at the Sportsmen Lodge located right near all of the major Hollywood attractions. Known for being a historic hotel, Sportsmen Lodge was popular among many old-Hollywood greats, like Clark Gable, Katherine Hepburn and Jon Wayne.
Take a break from your hectic schedule and explore the best of Hollywood this spring! From tours to sitcoms and iconic hotels, this will be a trip that you won’t regret.
